50 feet
Do not park within 10 feet of a fire hydrant or within 25 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection. You cannot park within 50 feet of a stop sign or a railroad crossing either.
Generally speaking, when you are near a No Parking placard, you are not allowed to park any closer than 10 ft, although 15 ft is probably better, so as to avoid completely whatever the situation is that requires the restriction in the first place.
Safe and legal parking Look for any signs or road markings that may stop you from parking. Don’t park closer than 1 metre from any vehicle entrance. Don’t park closer than 6 metres from any pedestrian crossing or intersection. Always park on the left side of the road (unless parking in a one-way street).
The three-second rule is recommended for passenger vehicles during ideal road and weather conditions. Slow down and increase your following distance even more during adverse weather conditions or when visibility is reduced. Also increase your following distance if you are driving a larger vehicle or towing a trailer.
Within 30 feet of a pedestrian safety zone — these are areas of the roadway that are marked exclusively for pedestrians. In a construction area or near an obstruction if stopping will interfere with traffic. Within 30 feet upon the approach of a stop sign, yield sign or traffic control signal.
Examples of non-traffic types of regulatory signs might be tow-away signs for vehicles without disabled parking stickers or no-smoking signs where there are laws prohibiting smoking.
Parking On A Hill Headed downhill, turn your front wheels into the curb or toward the side of the road. Set the parking brake. Headed uphill, turn your front wheels away from the curb and let your vehicle roll back a few inches. The wheel should gently touch the curb.

The part of the law that applies just to parking has only one prohibition:
Many state and city laws prohibit parking within 30 feet of stop signs, such as in the law detailed by the Ohio Revised Code Laws and Rules. A similar law can be found in the Michigan Vehicle Code, which applies the same standard to traffic-control signal and flashing stop signs.
You must not park, stop or stand within 6 metres of: 1 the approach side of a crosswalk 2 the approach to a flashing beacon, stop sign, or traffic control signal 3 the entrance or exit of a hotel, theatre, public meeting place, dance hall, fire hall 4 a playground in a rural area.
